How do I find, prepare & submit RFPs

by Anita
(California)

Once I am comfortable with my transcription skills and experience, I would like to branch out and obtain my own contracts with police departments, cities, courts, etc.

How would I go about locating these opportunities and then submitting an RFP?

Are there specific requirements or documentation needed prior to submitting an RFP?

How do I prepare an RFP?

Proposals to RFPs
by: Karen

Hi Anita,
Great questions!!

Here's what I did to start: I Google'd "RFPs for transcriptionists" and found a couple of decent ones, and although currently inactive, they'll give you a very good idea of what's out there.

The example below in particular even outlines in detail how to format your proposal (your response to the RFP) and what information to include. I would think you could use this information to set up a proposal template for any future RFPs you find.
