About My Website!

I launched my own transcription company, Northern Berks Transcription, after doing transcription on the job for a few years. I participated in a couple of forums related to transcription and seemed to get asked quite a lot how I got started in transcription.

What did I do? How did I learn it? What schools offered courses in general transcription?

So I started a sort of cheat sheet file to easily answer emails and posts in forums. I also started noticing that as the economy continued to decline and more people got laid off, the demand for information about general transcription increased.

People wanted to know more about this "work from home" industry but they were really having a hard time trying to find all of this information in one place.

Where Was All of This Information?
The term "general transcription" is just starting to get noticed. Not a lot of people really know what it is yet. Even I wasn't sure what it was a few years ago; I just knew that I was a transcriptionist but I wasn't doing medical or legal transcription.

So what was I doing? The transcriptionists in our field were using the term "general" transcription to set us apart from the medical and legal fields. It's slowly catching on now.

Today's Economy Fuels a Real Need for this Information

With so many people being laid off and wanting to start their own home businesses, I really felt there was a need to help make it easier for people to find out about general transcription by having just about all of the information they need - all in one place, available at any time.

Not many people understand that once you have this information, general transcription is one of the fastest ways to earn a living from home without feeling like you're only doing some "type at home for cash" gig.

This is truly a genuine profession, a career choice, one that can be built into a six-digit income career if one so chooses and in a relatively short amount of time.

But you have to know where to start, just like with any other business or even a work from home job. And having all of that relevant information in one place just makes getting started that much easier.

So my notes turned into an ebook and that ebook transformed into this website. I hope you've been able to find the information you've been looking for through our articles, our resources and our newsletter.

Keep us bookmarked for when we add fresh articles and tips to help you start your new business as a general transcriptionist.

Thanks for stopping by!
